STATEMENT:
rn"The work inaugurated today corresponds to a global project conceived by the Municipality to reclaim the Central Park grounds, where for many years the old bus terminal was located.
rnFollowing the terminal's relocation, a 15,000-square-meter public space was created, which the Municipality seeks to enhance through the Recreational Walkway Project, with a total investment of approximately 3,800,000 pesos.
rnThe project’s goal is to achieve urban integration between the upper and lower parts of the city, to create a space for recreational and cultural activities, improve lighting, and provide greater safety.
rnThis project holds various motivations for the city. From an urban perspective, it seeks to elevate the value of public spaces. However, it also bears a profound emotional significance: to pay tribute to those who gave their lives for the nation's interests, and to those who survived the war, sharing the same commitment as their fallen comrades.
rn'May this tribute extend to every corner of the country' (...).
rnMayor Horacio Quiroga thanked the presence of the Falklands War veterans and the families of the fallen soldiers of the South Atlantic War, expressing his wish that 'beyond political differences, Argentinians may unite around a just cause such as the Falkland Islands,' and that 'this tribute may reach every corner of the country.'
